Brent is a long-time communications professional, beginning his career as a music and entertainment writer before shifting focus towards manufacturing, engineering and related subjects in 2012.
He is currently Communication Manager (part-time) at the Australian Composites Manufacturing CRC, a freelance journalist for various publications, and a copywriter and media adviser to industrial and not-for-profit clients.
Brent co-founded and ran the news and commentary website, newsletter, podcast and community, @AuManufacturing, from 2018 until 2025.
In his role at the ACM CRC, Brent aims to share as many good yarns as possible about high-performing yet shy Australian manufacturers teaming up with researchers to turn projects into commercial impact.
