Richard Simpson is the Managing Director of Furnace Engineering, an Australian engineering company specialising in design and manufacture of high temperature processing equipment.

Furnace Engineering is active in the support of composites manufacturers, with internationally recognised designs for the manufacture of carbon fibre, and curing of carbon fibre composites.  It has a long history of developing specialised heat processing equipment, including several patented high temperature technologies.

Richard Simpson started his career as an engineer at Ford Motor Company before joining Furnace Engineering as a project engineer, before becoming Managing Director, which he has been for over 25 years.  He is also a member of the Council (governing board) of Swinburne University of Technology.
