Simon is the Head of Strategic Communications & Government Relations at Pact Group, based in Melbourne Victoria. Simon joined Pact in 2021 and leads the company’s advocacy efforts on packaging regulation reform. He sits on key recycling and packaging industry advisory groups and government advisory bodies. Simon also leads Pact’s stakeholder engagement activities and acts as the company’s media spokesman. 

Prior to joining Pact, Simon spent 12 years working in senior Corporate Affairs roles in large Australian and multi-national companies including Woodside, Transurban, Worley Parsons 
and Philip Morris International. Before moving into the corporate sector, Simon spent six years in senior advisory roles in the Australian and Western Australian governments, first as the Senior Media Adviser to the Western Australian Attorney General and Minister for Health, then as the Press Secretary to the Australian Minister for Immigration and Citizenship.    

Simon began his working life as a journalist, completing his cadetship with the West Australian newspaper and spending more than 14 years as a reporter in newspapers and television organisations in Perth, Canberra, Melbourne and London.
