Win Tun leads all business development activities in the Asia Pacific region for WITRON, experts in designing, realising, and operating tailor-made smart intralogistics solutions. Joining WITRON in 2008 as a technical support engineer, Win has since trained customers and onsite technicians, and successfully managed the commissioning of numerous automated distribution centres. He knows the logistics business from design, realisation and implementation, through to the after sales services, optimisations and operations.
Revolutionising Food Retail Logistics
The journey of WITRON's Order Picking Machinery (OPM) system began with a simple idea at founder Walter Winkler’s coffee table. Inspired by the ease with which a cake lifter picks up a piece of cake, he conceptualised the COM, the heart of the OPM system. This innovation allows for fully automated, efficient, and error-free pallet and roll container loading for food retailers. Celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2023, the OPM system has become a cornerstone in food retail logistics, operating in nearly 100 locations and serving over 35,000 stores globally. With its ability to automate approx. 95% of a full-range store's product scope, OPM has significantly lowered costs and increased efficiency for retailers across North America, Europe, and Australia. As WITRON continues to innovate, the OPM system is poised to further revolutionise supply chain logistics through intelligent networks and end-to-end retail platforms.
